Day 1: Arrive Tokyo (Narita)
After entry procedures, transfer to your hotel by Airport Limousine Bus on your own. We provide you with a pre-paid bus coupon and detailed instructions with an airport map.
Two nights’ accommodations at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel (Main Tower / Renovated Room).

Day 2: Join Tokyo Morning Tour / Afternoon At Leisure
This morning join a sightseeing tour of Tokyo which will include a visit to the Tokyo Tower Observatory for a panoramic view of the city. Drive by the Imperial Palace Plaza (a short photo stop at the outer garden) visit Asakusa Kannon Temple with bustling Nakamise Shopping Arcade. Drive through Ginza, the most celebrated shopping area in Japan. Tour ends at Tasaki Pearl Gallery where you will be introduced to cultured pearl making. Return transfer to your hotel provided by Tasaki Pearl Gallery. Afternoon and evening at leisure.
Day 3: Tokyo to Kyoto by Bullet Train (Train Ticket Included)
Walk to Shinagawa Station and board a Hikari Bullet Train for Kyoto on your own. Get off at Kyoto Station and walk across the street to the New Miyako Hotel. Afternoon at leisure to plan your own activities. We will provide you with a self-guided walking tour that includes directions on how to get around Kyoto riding the local bus, a good map and a brief description of the various points of interest.

Day 4: Join Kyoto 1-Day Tour (Lunch Included)
Join in the full day sightseeing tour of Kyoto visiting Nijo Castle, once used as the Tokugawa Shogun's family palace. Also visit the Golden Pavilion, a gilded symmetrical structure originally a nobleman's villa and the Kyoto Imperial Palace, a former residence of the Imperial Family. Our lunch stop will be at the Kyoto Handicraft Center where you will see demonstrations by skilled craftsmen of wood-block printing, weaving, gold inlay, pottery and more. This afternoon (different bus from morning tour) visit the vermilion Heian Shrine, a magnificent structure strongly influenced by Chinese architecture. Also visit Sanjusangendo Hall and its host of impressive statue of Buddha. Finally, visit Kiyomizu Temple, noted for its 164-foot-high wooden veranda and a magnificent view of Kyoto. Return to your hotel, evening at leisure.
Important Note:

On Tuesdays in Jan, Jul, Aug & Dec, or Wednesday if Tuesday is a national holiday, Nijo Castle is closed and you will visit Ryoanji Temple or Daitokuji Daisen-in Temple instead.

Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed on Saturday, Sunday, national holidays and a few other days, visit Nishi Honganji Temple instead. On Oct 25 visit Ryoanji Temple or Daitokuji Daisenin Temple instead.

Heian Shrine will be replaced by Chishaku-in Temple on Oct 22.

Day 5: Morning At Leisure / Afternoon Join Nara Tour
This morning is at leisure to enjoy Kyoto on your own. This afternoon‘s tour begins with a bus ride to Nara, taking you through the Japan countryside. Upon arrival in Nara visit the Todaiji Temple, the world's largest wooden building that houses the 50-foot-high Great Image of Buddha. Enjoy the peaceful Deer Park where many tame deer roam freely on the grounds. Walk through vermilion-hued Kasuga Shrine with its thousands of lanterns. Return bus ride back to Kyoto, arrival at your hotel about 6:40 p.m.

Note: Jan & Feb, the Nara Afternoon Tour only operates on Tus, Thu & Sat, your sightseeing tours in Kyoto will be shuffled to fit.

Day 6: Kyoto to Tokyo by Bullet Train (Train Ticket Included)
Walk to Kyoto Station and board a Bullet train for Tokyo on your own. Upon arrival at Shinagawa Station, walk to your hotel.
Overnight accommodations at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel (Main Tower / Renovated Room).
Day 7: Depart Tokyo (Narita)
Transfer to the airport by pre-paid Airport Limousine Bus on your own.
