The Sapporo Snow Festival (Sapporo Yuki Matsuri) is the most popular winter event in Japan. For one week the downtown streets of Sapporo are transformed into a winter wonderland of frozen art. Sure to please children ages 1 to 100, the Snow Festival is one of the “Don’t Miss” annual festival in Japan.

In 2010, the 61st annual festival will take place from Friday, February 05 through Thursday, February 11. Due to the popularity of this festival, it is impossible to quote an exact price. Reservations are taken on a first come first served basis. Once we confirm your reservation a $500 non-refundable deposit is required, with final payment due by November 1, 2009.

Day 1: Arrive Sapporo (New Chitose Airport)
After baggage claim, meet your local assistant who will assist you with your private car transfer to your hotel.
Three nights’ hotel accommodations. Your hotel will be advised at time of confirmation.
Day 2: Morning Sapporo Orientation
This morning meet your guide for a walking orientation tour of downtown Sapporo and the Snow Festival venue at Odori Park. Odori Park stretches from east to west through the center of downtown Sapporo and represents the main festival site. There are also snow stages located on neighboring streets offering a variety of entertainment. Your guide will explain the history of the Snow Festival and point out local restaurants and shopping areas. Afternoon at leisure for you to explore Sapporo on your own.
Day 3: Sapporo Day At Leisure
Complete day at leisure to enjoy the Snow Festival on your own.
Day 4: Depart Sapporo (New Chitose Airport)
Transfer back to the airport by private car with an English speaking assistant.

Visa: Not required for U.S. citizens for stay up to 90 days. A valid passport is required for international travel. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after your intended stay.
