Day 01, Mon/Thu - Bangkok-Ayuthaya-Lopburi-Pitsanuloke
Early morning departure from Bangkok by air-conditioned bus. Visit the Summer Palace then continue on to Ayuthaya, the former capital of Thailand. Lunch at a local restaurant. This afternoon visit the temples and local museum in Lopburi before proceeding to Pitsanuloke. Dinner and overnight at the Amarin Lagoon Hotel or similar. Meals: L/D

Day 02, Tue/Fri - Pitsanuloke-Sukhothai-Sri Satchanalai-Lampang
Breakfast at hotel. This morning proceed to Sukhothai to visit the famous ruins of the first capital of Thailand. Continue to Satchanalai where you will enjoy visits to many of the ancient temples. Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner and overnight at the Lampang River Lodge or similar. Meals: B/L/D

Day 03, Wed/Sat - Lampang-Lampoon-Chiang Mai
Breakfast at hotel. Morning departure for Chiang Mai, visit Lampoon and the Karen Hilltribe village enroute. Lunch at a local restaurant. This afternoon visit the silk and cotton weaving local industry at Sankampaeng district, the Umbrella Village where you will observe how deft fingers transform bamboo, paper, silk and paint into beautiful umbrellas and learn the skills involved in wood-carvings, celadon firing and the making of lacquer and silver ware. Dinner at hotel. Two nights at the Chiang Mai Plaza or similar. Meals: B/L/D

Day 04, Thu/Sun - Morning Chiang Mai Temple Tour / Evening Dinner With Dance Performance
Breakfast at hotel. This morning visit some of the most interesting temples in Chiang Mai including the beautiful Wat Doi Suthep temple, tucked away in the mountains at 3,520 feet above sea-level. Return to your hotel for lunch and an afternoon at leisure. This evening a special treat, relax and enjoy some northern folk dances as you are served a sumptuous northern Thai dinner. After dinner, return to your hotel. Meals: B/L/D

Day 05, Fri/Mon - Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai
Breakfast at hotel. This morning depart Chiang Mai to visit the elephant work camp. Continue on to Thatorn. Lunch at a local restaurant. This afternoon depart by longtail boat for an exciting journey on the Kok River. Stop at local villages along the way. Arrive in Chiang Rai. Dinner and overnight at the Dusit Island Resort or similar. Meals: B/L/D
Important Note About The Boat Ride: Long tail boats are long shallow boats much like a very large, long, shallow canoe. They do not have covers so you will be exposed to the elements.

Day 06, Sat/Tue - Chiang Rai Sightseeing / Transfer To Chiang Rai Airport
Breakfast at hotel. This morning visit the hilltribe village center near Mai Chan and enjoy colorful cultural performances. Then continue to the trading town of Mae Sai. Proceed to the "Golden Triangle," the exact spot where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet. After lunch, continue to Chiang Saen for sightseeing then transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Meals: B/L
Note: For planning purposes, the arrival time at Chiang Rai Airport is scheduled for Thai Airways flight #135 departing Chiang Rai at 3:30 P.M. and arriving Bangkok at 4:45 P.M. Please make your flight reservations accordingly.
