Krabi is a southern province on Thailands Andaman seaboard. A hidden wonder on the Andaman Sea, Krabi offers impressive sightseeing, scenery, quiet beaches and is just being discovered by tourists.
Weather in Krabi is typically that of the tropical monsoon, providing the province with just two seasons, the hot season from January to April, and the rainy season from May to December. Monsoon winds, which change according to season, blow from the southeast, the southwest, and the northeast. Temperatures range between 70°F and 100°F degrees and the yearly rainfall averages around 100 inches.
When tourists refer to Krabi, they usually mean the beach areas of Klong Muang, Ao Nang and Railay, not the town itself. Krabi Airport is located 8 miles from the center of town (about 20 minutes by car). From town to the beach area of Ao Nang is about 18 miles.
